Body Hammers are drop forged from high carbon steel, heat treated, quenched and have tempered heads. They have a burnt lacquer finish, Grade B (or better), and Hickory wooden handles or cushion grip fiberglass handles. The hammer was one of the basic hand tools around which the body and fender repair trade was developed. The heavy duty bumping hammer is used for heavy gauge truck fenders and panels. It is also used in straightening reinforcements, braces, etc. Faces, 1 ¼” round and 1 3/16” square head, 4” overall.
